Review

AV Audio Recorder is a shareware utility that makes it possible to record audio from a sound card's output, microphone, line in, CD, DVD, etc.; and save it to MP3, OGG, WMA, and WVA audio files. This applications gives us the opportunity to convert and recover our favorite music that we keep on cassettes and similar unreliable storages, to digital audio by connecting appropriate devices to the sound card via the line in connection (the help file provides useful information on how to connect old devices to the computer).

It is possible to customize sample rate, bit depth, stereo/mono, applied filters, and so on. The program lets us configure several options such as schedule recording (record at any given date and time), voice activate system, automatic gain control, hot keys, and general settings (Output file Type, Output Directory, Auto make file name by date and time, etc.). We can manage audio files( edit, crop, play, and add name/info). From the Help menu, we can Burn CD, Erase Disk, and Rip CD, quite easily with the help of the Audio Burner Wizard, Disk Eraser Wizard, and Audio Grabber Wizard respectively. AV Audio Recorder can be evaluated free of charge. It runs under Windows Vista, XP, NT, ME, 2000, 98, and 95 OS.

  • Recovers audio from cassettes.
  • Burn, Rip, Erase Wizards.
  • Excellent Help File.
  • Easy to use.
  • Free trial version.
Disadvantages
